Albuquerque, New Mexico
Biography:
I've been an artist my entire life, but I became a photographer when I was seven. It all started with a little pink, plastic camera. I photographed everything from flowers, to family, and even my pet hamster. I couldn't wait to have the film developed so I could see what I had created. I still get that same rush of excitement with every click of the shutter.
At thirteen I discovered my dad's Vivtar 35mm in a closet. Along with it I also discovered exposure, depth of field, and ultimately my passion. I took my first photography class in high school and basically lived in the red glow of the darkroom for the next 4 years.
My next step was photography school. I worked hard, learned a lot and managed to burn myself out creatively all at the same time. I barely picked up my camera for the next 2-3 years.
I didn't get my groove back until May 2009. My camera and I finally kissed and made up and I started to enjoy shooting again. It was like I suddenly came back to life. In October 2009 I started a 365 Project. Not only do I take a self portrait every day, but I also write about whatever is on my mind and post it all online. I have rediscovered myself through this project and I have been able to reach others in the process.
Now, I'm happy to say, photography is not only my passion in life, photography is my life.
