Biography:
Sarah Bentvelzen is a 22 year old Australian-born artist specialising in abstraction, however she has recently stepped into the world of self-portrait photography.
Sarah has received awards for some of her abstract works, including a People's Choice Award from the University of Western Sydney in 2006 and a commendation from the 2009 Hawkesbury Art Show in Sydney, and she hopes for similar success for her photography.
Sarah's photography is an exploration of sexual attraction and the personal insecurities involved in finding one's own sexual appeal and embracing it. There is an evolution or self-portrait journey in her photographic works in which she discovers her own self-worth.
Sarah finds inspiration from a quote by Oscar Wilde, "The mystery of love is greater than the mystery of death."
