Biography:
After spending most of my twenties and thirties not knowing exactly what I was supposed to do with my life; I found my focus along side the Mississippi river. Quite simply, during the summer of 2003 I was near the river waiting for a ride on the water taxi. While waiting for the next shuttle; I decided to walk along the rocky shore to see what was there. This all started with a photograph of some brilliantly colored thistle and a fat, pollen covered Bee. I was simply amazed at the wonder of the happenings going on in this little world right in the midst of living in my big world.
As a result, I began to photograph every chance I had of anything and everything. It was an insatiable desire to visually explore anything I could get my lens on. Subsequently, all of the exploration lead me to return to College and work toward a degree. Upon returning to school; I excelled in Art, received an Art scholarship, and won some Photography competitions too. My dream is to combine photography with writing, and publish for the benefit of all.
Currently, I am involved in a year long photo project in which I photograph at least once a day. While everyday is not a home-run, this project has forced me to stop thinking about shooting, and start doing it. The world needs to see those precious, tender little worlds that exist right below their next footfall. My belief is that if we can learn to be better seers, then we shall surely learn to be better people.
