Biography:
Currently pursuing his MA in Media Studies & Film at the New School in Manhattan, Pedro Juan Vidal has lived in New York City now for only a year. Halfway done with the program, he has cultivated a few video projects which center around being in the world, existence, and perception between the objective and subjective. In the video installation submitted, "IN TRANSITION BETWEEN LABOR & LEISURE," Pedro's "self" drifts in and out of framed spaces. He calls it a video installation because it is a video that involves close interaction with varied spaces. His character acts out various daily and mundane tasks (the nature of the tasks transition from domestic chores to managing inventory at work), never completely passive but neither active, merely automatic routine and habit.
