Natalie Dybisz
Hove, East Sussex, UK

Biography:
I am a self-taught, 23 year-old fine-art photographer, living by the sea in Brighton UK, with my boyfriend and a black cat. The world of creative possibilities offered by digital post-production is what initially attracted me to art, and specifically, to photography. The internet has been largely instrumental in stirring my passion for creating art because of the forum it provides for sharing it with others. I have been shooting since 2006. Most of the work I have produced to date are self-portraits, which I love for the complete control, independence and empowerment they offer me as an artist. I like to create images that merge meaningful messages with arresting aesthetics, though the message will often be open to interpretation. I like to set my art 'free' in this sense to let viewers make what they will of my work. I am inspired by anything from films, to paintings, to dreams. I believe concept is not enough, and I strive to strike a balance in satisfying both the mind and the eye. I believe in a ‘get up and go’ attitude that defies rules, dictation and tradition. I have exhibited in the UK, Spain and the US. My greatest achievements include being on the cover of American Photo and being invited to judge on the panel for a major photography competition last year. I am excited about what the future holds, not just for my work but for other people who have embraced the double-bound power of digital technology and the internet.
