Biography:
I am a asian female city-dwelling nature nut who is a huge fan of creepy crawly things, two terms a friend once used to describe my art. I like to take mundane animals, or ones that are perceived in a negative manner, and either paint or photograph them in a way that opens other eyes to the tiniest detail. For example, highlighting the metallic sheen of the common house fly abdomen, or outlining the irridescent tentacles of a poisonous jellyfish. It sounds corny but that's me, the tiniest things in nature can just about bring me to tears, whereas lions and tiger and bears- eh, who cares. If I ever get plastic surgery I would get gills and live underwater; my paintings often seem to end up with an aquatic-esque theme. I do not have any formal training, just an over observant eye, over active imagination, and hand/arm that has a mind of its own. Preparing for a painting generally means getting the stuff out, plopping some colors on the canvas, adding some more colora and seeing what
