Biography:
"My mother gave me her brownie camera when I was eight, and I discovered the thrill of life through a lens. I’m still thrilled by this. When I can pull color, composition and light into one visual dynamic, I believe can transport one's imagination into another dimension, if only for a moment. I'm interested in colorful, sensual, and textural subjects, landscape and garden themes, and the everyday and ordinary when it presents itself as something worth noting.
I’m a huge fan of the painter Georgia O’Keefe. Many artists have influenced my work, but French photographers Henri Cartier-Bresson and Eugene Atget, and American photographers Paul Strand and Edward Steichen are favorites. For me, a great visual image is one that you continue to think about. One that leaves a lasting impression in your memory after you have viewed it."
