Windsor, Ontario, Canada
Biography:
My name is Daniel Joseph Bombardier. I was born in the border city of Windsor, Ontario. Both of my parents are French-Canadian and I have two brothers and two sisters, I am the eldest. Growing up in a large family with little resources gave my siblings and I ample opportunity to develop our creativity and imaginations.
I have lived in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Halifax throughout my life and currently reside back in my hometown of Windsor. By trade I am a graphic designer/ programmer. In the past 4 years I have been developing new techniques using my skills as a designer and programmer to form my mixed media art. I have been heavily involved in the Detroit electronic music scene since the mid-nineties, which has been a huge influence on my work. Pop culture and media are also great contributors to the ideas present in my work. Since 2005 I have immersed myself fully into my life as an artist and strive for new opportunities always.
I get to know myself more each day through my experiences with art. I also find a connection with others comes easier as I express myself visually. I am an avid public "guerilla" artist, which I must admit is mostly because I love watching human reaction to the unexplainable or unexpected. Catching people off guard, there is a certain truth and honesty found. A lot of my work I am currently exploring start off in the street as an idea. In its infancy I adjust and refine the idea into what I feel merits doing a piece of art.
Thanks
D.
